This worksheet will help you assess 4.MD.3
Apply the area and perimeter formulas for rectangles in real world and mathematical problems. For example, find the width of a rectangular room given the area of the flooring and the length, by viewing the area formula as a multiplication equation with an unknown factor.
The first two questions require the students to count squares to determine the area or perimeter of a shape.
The next four questions the students look at a rectangle and the info given to determine the area and perimeter or determine the length of one of the sides.
The last four questions are word problems invovling area and perimeter. These problems will often require multiple steps to solve.
