Students will love this fun activity to demonstrate their understanding of division and the 4.NBT.6 standard. It is no prep for busy teachers! This activity comes differentiated for students. There are three different pages of division problems to solve which vary in difficulty.
Students will solve the problems (some of which have remainders) and use that information to design their house. A house template is provided to print/copy on standard sized paper, or you may want to provide students a larger piece of paper to draw their own house on. They will follow the directions given to determine how many of an item to draw and what it should look like.
The preview file shows each page provided in the packet.
Regardless of which leveled worksheet you give students, the answers are all the same. For example: All houses will have students drawing two doors that are brown. It doesn't matter if they have the approaching, on, or above level worksheet. This prevents the bad feelings students can get when they aren't at the same level as their peers. This also allows for even faster checking for teachers!
Let students show their artistic creativity while mastering a tricky concept! This project can easily be used for group work or independent work. It can be homework, or a final project to wrap up division.
