Product Description
1. In these Lesson Plans, students will "decompose" or break fractions into a sum of smaller parts. For example:

29/5 = 20/5 + 9/5

29/5 = 10/5 + 10/5 + 9/5


2. Students will then begin to change improper fractions into mixed numbers. For example:

29/5 = 5/5 + 5/5 + 5/5 + 5/5 + 5/5 + 4/5

29/5 = 5 + 4/5


3. Students will model their solutions on number lines which are provided. Students will work with fractions that have denominators of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 10.


4. These Lesson Plans include templates that allow teachers to modify and create additional practice problems for students.
