This writing presentation is packed and full of information for students and teachers! If you are looking for writing presentation that explains an analytical expository writing to your students, this should be your lesson.
The students will learn what is an analytical expository and 2 example prompts from a previous ACT ASPIRE test.
First, there is information on the 4 sections of how each writing will be graded:
1. Ideas and Analysis
2. Development and Support
4. Language Use
The students will learn how each section is graded. Each section is worth 5 points. (I have taken the rubric from the ACT ASPIRE for each section and broken it down into easier pieces for students).
In the slideshow, there is a link to past scored ACT Aspire Writings from 4th grade. So the students will see what a 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 looks like. There are 5 student examples on this ACT Aspire Website. This was a big part of the lesson because students could view work from 4th graders like themselves.
