For most of the literature standards, each standard comes with a note-taking box that includes a rivet to make note-taking fun while holding your students' attention. These are scaffolded notes to help students learn the essential skill of note-taking without overwhelming them.
(Download preview to see examples!) Underneath the note-taking box is an area for visual representations of the notes to help cement learning.
Love anchor charts?
I have included classroom photos of the anchor charts I use that coincide with the students interactive notebooks. The interactive notebooks are almost a mini-replica of my classroom anchor charts. That way, when you run out of wall space and the anchor chart goes away, your students still have the most essential parts of the anchor charts in their notebooks. Hello, end of year review!
You can use these as inspiration or not, you choose! The Common Core literature standards anchor charts are available in my store as well click the following link:
Common Core Anchor Charts Made Easy-Literature Standards Bundle
[Update: In the first three months of release, 75% of the people who purchased the interactive notebook also purchased the anchor chart bundle! I'm so happy so many of you are using it as an additional resource!]
There is also at least one interactive piece for each standard that will allow students to independently practice the standard during independent reading or small group reading. This makes your reading conferences much more valuable, because you will be able to see what standard your kiddos are proficient in as well as where they are struggling.
