This wonderful Fourth Grade Common Core Math Goals pack includes everything you need for your students to track their own math goals. This goals pack includes a progress checklist, including I can statements for each unit, a weekly goals ws and a sign for the crate or file box. I can statements are separated by each common core math unit. I use file boxes with a file for each student.
Each week, the students complete a sheet showing goals they have met the previous week and goals they have for the upcoming week. The students are given a progress goals checklist at the beginning of the unit they are working on. They will check off the yes I can statement as they meet their goals. Teachers will use whatever data they would like (test, quiz, ticket out the door etc.) to check off whether their students have indeed mastered the goal in the teacher section. We usually shoot for 80% or higher on a test, which means they have met a goal. This will definitely help you to differentiate your class!! As we all know, fourth grade is a huge year to teach responsibility and organization. Students keep track of their goals themselves and learn to take ownership of their own goals. My students get so excited when they have met a goal! Enjoy!
