Great resource to integrate your reading street reading strategies with literature and have your story units strategies at your fingertips.
In this resource I have matched the reading street stories with the reading café strategies and have listed literature to use to teach these strategies. I have also included the Literacy Cafe Strategies chart for reading.
Integrating Reading Street and Reading Café Strategies with Literature:
In this resource I have included the Daily Literacy Café strategies chart for a quick check of each strategy and the common core skill that it entails.
I have charted each of the reading street stories, the café strategy taught in this story and a list of literature that can be used to further teach this strategy. The literacy lessons for each of these books can be found on the Daily Café website that I have included here, https://www.thedailycafe.com/cafe/resources/lit-lessons.
You can decide which book you would like to use for this strategy and then download the lesson for the book from the website. Note: The lessons have a list of strategies that can be used for each book, so this book may be used over and over to teach other strategies. I would copy the lesson and put it in a clear sleeve. The lessons along with this resource list are kept in a binder for easy use.
