Product Description
At last, Literacy Centers designed specifically for intermediate students that will help on their reading journey..

These centers coordinate with the 4th grade Journeys series published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt*. The centers can stand on their own and you do not have to be using this reading text book in order to use the centers in your classroom.

The six literacy centers in this packet are designed to give your students time to practice the literacy skills and strategies that have been presented in class lessons. You do not have to use all six centers every week. Choose the centers that meet the needs of your students and your curriculum.

There are five weeks of centers in this set. Each week has six centers:

Read About It:/ independent reading, students write a reflection that focuses on the weekly reading skill (story structure, point of view, author's purpose, cause and effect, theme, understanding characters)

Chat About It: partner reading, students discuss the weekly reading comprehension strategy (summarize, monitor and clarify, visualize, analyze and evaluate, infer and predict)

Listen to It: partner reading to practice fluency ( accuracy and self correction, phrasing, accuracy, intonation, expression)

Just a Word About It: independent work, focuses on word study skills ( Prefixes un-, re-, dis-, im-, in-, il-, ir-, non-, mis-, using context and references materials-dictionary)

Be Right About It: independent work, focuses on grammar, and writing mechanics skills ( sentence recognition, types of sentences, fragments and run-ons, proper nouns)
