This task cards set contains 24 task cards to help your students practice extending and generating data tables with number pairs that follow patterns (functions). There are a variety of question types which helps prepare students for the types of problems they will encounter on standardized tests.
These task cards ask students to:
-Find the missing number/s in a given data table
-Determine if a pair of numbers fit in a data table, and explain why or why not
-Extend data tables and explain
-Determine which number/s do not belong in a data table and explain why
-Given a scenario (i.e. spiders having 8 legs), generate a data table with at least 5 number pairs
There is a blank recording sheet provided for your students to record their answers. There is also an answer key which can be used by teachers or students to check work. The answer key is formatted exactly the same as the recording sheet to make grading quick and easy.
Ideas for use:
Task cards are great for use with guided math groups, at math centers, as at home activities, for early finishers, or for differentiating in 3rd and 5th grades. You might also find them to be useful as a supplement to those math lessons which have fewer practice problems than others. I love the idea of pulling a few cards here and there from previous used sets of cards to review and keep concepts fresh! Just assign a problem to a group or the whole class.
