This task cards set contains 32 task cards to help your students practice rounding whole numbers. There are a variety of question types which helps prepare students for the types of problems they will encounter on standardized tests.
These task cards ask students to:
-Round numbers using a number line
-Round numbers to the hundred thousands place when the rounding place is underlined
-Round numbers to hundred thousands place when the rounding place is given in the problem
-List numbers in a given range that will round to a given number
-Explain how to round a number when the digit to the right of the rounding place is less than 5, 5, and greater than 5.
-Give examples of numbers that when rounded to two different place values, the answer is the same
There is a blank recording sheet provided for your students to record their answers. There is also an answer key which can be used by teachers or students to check work. The answer key is formatted exactly the same as the recording sheet to make grading quick and easy.
Ideas for use:
Task cards are great for use with guided math groups, at math centers, as at home activities, for early finishers, or for differentiating in 3rd and 5th grades. You might also find them to be useful as a supplement to those math lessons which have fewer practice problems than others. I love the idea of pulling a few cards here and there from previous used sets of cards to review and keep concepts fresh! Just assign a problem to a group or the whole class.
