For that reason, pre-packaged spiraling word problem resources have never worked for me. However, I knew I needed something that I could pull from every day to get that consistent practice. This resource was born from that need.
This 4th Grade Word Problem of the Day resource is meant to supplement any pacing or curriculum guide you use. Here are the key features that allow this:
*Each set is skill-based.
*Each set is separated in a way that allows you to heavily target the operations you need at the time you need them.
*The sets are created with different formats so you can mix and match to create just the spiraling word problem curriculum that works for you. Checklists are included to help you keep track of which word problems for each set you have used.
*An editable version is included so you can change the numbers to increase or decrease the rigor as needed.
This set includes whole number operations only. Here is the breakdown:
Set 2A – Multi-Digit Multiplication (1-10: 2-3-4-digit by 1-digit, 11-20: 2-digit by 2-digit)
Set 2B – Multi-Digit Division (1-digit divisors only)
Set 2C – Multi-Step Word Problems (with one operation in each problem being multi-digit multiplication or division)

This word problems in this resource are available in three different formats:
1. One problem per page format: This format works well for projecting the problems via a smartboard or printing them out to place at a math center.
2. One problem per page with student workspace: This format works well for giving each student a word problem daily. There is ample space for the students to organize and show their work.
3. One week per page: This format works well for paper-saving classrooms. All of the word problems for the week are on one page.
