Music Lesson Plans Bundled (Set 2)

Included In This Product:

★20 Fourth Grade Music Lesson Plans. Lessons are aligned to the National Core Arts Standards and were designed to last 40-50 minutes (depending on the skill and behavior of your students). 7 of the 20 lessons are focused on introducing students to the recorder. The other 13 lessons introduce various concepts appropriate for 4th grade music students.

Please note that the recorder lessons are not a recorder program (like Recorder Karate for example) where students advance from one level to the next by mastering songs. These lessons instead focus on how to teach basic concepts to students such as how to read a fingering chart, how to play without squeaking, how to tongue, and how to play short exercises containing the notes B, A, G, E, and D. For each new note that is introduced, I have included one original song with piano accompaniment for students to play at the end of each lesson.

★Each lesson contains a shorter version called “lessons at a glance.” Each lesson at a glance contains the objective for that lesson, standards, new terms/concepts, songs, required materials, and optional materials. These are a great way to get a quick idea of what you will be teaching in each lesson as well as what materials you need without having to read through the entire lesson plan!

★1 Song list. This file contains a list of all the songs contained in the lessons as well as links to where you can find those songs and the lessons that those songs are used in (NOTE: 9 of the 11 songs needed to teach the lessons are included in this product. The other 2 can be found for free on YouTube or can be downloaded on Amazon for .99-1.29 per song. Links to those downloads are provided both in the lessons and in the song list).

★227 pages of 4th grade resources (PowerPoint presentations, original song notation, posters, worksheets, word wall cards, and more!)

★Examples of resources included:

--8 original songs and 1 original warm-up

All of the original songs include piano accompaniment. The piano accompaniment for each song requires beginner to moderate skill level. Sound files are included for each song and are in MP3 format. Recordings include both full score and accompaniment only. They were recorded using music notation software and do not include human voices singing the melody; although I recently added separate sound files of myself singing each melody to aid teachers who cannot read music.

--1 original cup routine to accompany one of the songs

--Music word wall cards that rhyme

--PowerPoint presentations introducing concepts such as how to play the recorder, syncopation, 6/8 time signature, harmony vs. melody, interactive rhythm cards, and more!

--PowerPoint presentations and listening glyphs to help students learn about music from the 1960’s

--Printable rhythm flash cards along with pictures and instructions for how to put them together

--1 file folder game

--Composition worksheets, writing prompts, and a rhythm cootie catcher!

--And much more!

★PowerPoint files come in both PDF and PowerPoint formats. All printables come in PDF. This product is not editable.
