This set of task cards will help your students understand the different reasons why we have banks and credit unions, what happens to our money when we deposit or withdraw it into financial institutions, savings accounts, certificate of deposit accounts, etc.
Key vocabulary terms: withdraw, deposit, interest, lend/loan, credit union, bank, savings account, certificate of deposit (CD) accounts.
Use the heading cards provided to sort task cards 1-8 under the correct category (earn interest, pay interest, no interest earned or paid). Task cards 9-24 are multiple choice or open ended questions where students are asked to record their answers on the answer document.
Answer key provided for quick teacher check or student self-check.
These task cards can be used for whole or small group intervention, a center activity, or even print as homework/classwork.
They are aligned to new Texas financial standard 4.10E (purpose of financial institutions)
