I created this resource to use as an intervention for my students struggling with interpreting and solving word problems.
On each page, the students are presented with a word problem. The students must:
Retell the word problem in their own words.
Tell the operation they will use and why they will use it.
Solve the problem.
Prove their answer makes sense.
Prove their answer is correct.
The resource includes an answer key and a skills alignment page. Use the skills alignment page if you want to target specific skills (Example: multiplying fractions by whole numbers).
I have included two different blank templates. One with a space for you to write in or glue a word problem, and the other as just a blank template that can work with any word problem.
I have also included the word problems in a copy friendly version with 7-8 word problems on a page. You could give the students the word problem and the blank template. The template could be laminated and written on with expo markers.
