This is a great activity to give students for practicing multiplying fractions. Students get the opportunity to multiply fractions by fractions as well as multiply fractions by whole numbers. Students are asked to help our class pet (a sock monkey) get his glasses back! I also have a maze available without our class pet so you can add in your own personalized touches (school mascot, class pet, etc)
Perfect for stations, small group work, for students to work on individually in class, as a unique assessment tool or as fun and engaging homework.

This activity addresses the following Common Core Standards:
Apply and extend previous understandings of multiplication to multiply a fraction by a whole number.
Understand a multiple of a/b as a multiple of 1/b, and use this understanding to multiply a fraction by a whole number. For example, use a visual fraction model to express 3 × (2/5) as 6 × (1/5), recognizing this product as 6/5. (In general, n × (a/b) = (n × a)/b.)
