This a great activity after the completion of a geometry unit. While the Pythagorean Theorem is not actually taught or mentioned, the activity uses the skills learned at this level (triangles, squares/rectangles, and area to activate high order thinking in younger students. This activity is also differentiated for students and also provides an extention for advanced math students. This activity is also cross-curricular with Language Arts. The product of this activity is impressive and can be used as a test, project, or classwork grade.
