This tracker is one of my favorite products. I created it a few years ago and have absolutely loved using it ever since. I've taught 7th graders, 10th graders, and 12th graders using it, so it works across the grades. It is a place for students to keep track of all the important, day-to-day information about the class. I also use it in place of collecting starters/bellwork constantly.
This tracker is meant to be used to keep track of the dates/days of the class. When teaching everyday, you can replace "Day 1, Day 2, etc.." with the days of the week (Monday, Tuesday...) But this is helpful when teaching with an A/B schedule, as you just collect the tracker every 5 days or every 10 days if doing it double-sided.This ends up being about half the quarter if you are on an A/B schedule, or a month.
I also have students write down important due dates, or dates in general. They keep this tracker with them (unless you want to hold on to it for certain students) so they can see what was done or what will be coming up.
Next there is a spot for students to write down the objective/learning target for the day.
As an English teacher, I have students write down vocabulary we are working on, as well as the book they are reading outside of class. You can change this to suit your class. This tracker works well for any school subject, so feel free to play with that middle space and add what you want to.
At the bottom is my favorite spot. They write down a short summary of what the bellwork/starter was for that day (I have them actually complete the bellwork in their notebooks). Then I'll walk around at the beginning of the day and stamp their starters at the bottom if they have finished their starter. I also use their stamp to keep track of their reading or something similar. This allows me to not have to collect tons of starters every day. Instead I collect their trackers, which I've already stamped.
You can choose how to grade these trackers. I give them 10 points, 5 points for each side, which then counts for 5-10% of their grade.
