Students who finish their work early are often told to read a book. Although many of them love reading, sometimes it's more exciting for them to do an early finisher activity. These "print and go" activities are perfect for giving students a choice when they are done with their work.
Students are challenged to think of a word that meets the criteria listed at the top. Most of the time it is to try to think of a word for each letter of the alphabet. They can do this independently, with a partner, or even as a game with others (like Scattergories). You can put out one "List 'Em" activity out as a time, or you may want to set out more than one (so students can choose which one they'd like to complete).
I hope your class enjoys doing these as much as my 3rd graders do!
