Product Description
I use this as a tool to remind students what they need to look for in their writing. This can be a tool for beginning writers through advanced! Simply use the 5 fingers on your and as the 5 rules you need to check in writing.
Rule 1: every sentence begins with a capital. More advanced can use it to check for proper noun capitalization as well.
Rule 2: finger spaces, each word needs a finger space between, so the reader can determine each word.
Rule 3: spelling--beginner writers need to try using their phonemic skills to sound out words to the best of their ability, did they use the letters and their sounds to build a word similar enough? Always try your best to sound out each word you don't know, no matter what level the writer.
Rule 4: Does it make sense? Always be sure the writer reads their work back to themselves. If it doesn't make sense, it won't make sense to the reader. Always reread!
Ruler 5: Punctuation! Every sentence needs punctuation at the end, otherwise you're left with the world's longest run-on sentence. Remind students of the many different forms of punctuation.

Enjoy this great visual reminder for ALL writing assignments!
