I love to teach this song with the "alligator" flashcard or the "monkey" flashcard. The chant goes like this.
5 little monkeys swinging in the tree,
teasing Mister Alligator, "You can't catch me."
Along came Mister Alligator quiet as can be...
and snapped that monkey out of the tree.
What you get with this is
A) 2 page print out. I like to print and laminate and tape the two together nicely. That way I can always fold it up. You can also figure a way to make it bigger I'm sure.
B) the 5 monkey cut-outs on a separate piece of paper. The monkeys are put on green back circles making it an easier cut. I hate cutting complicated things.
C) the alligator. In this set, I included 2 alligators; one with legs and one that is swimming and has his reflection. If you use the one with the reflection I would cut out the black outline surrounding the reflection. The black line is just a guide for you.
D) You also get a recording track I made. It isn't quite a song but a story. It comes in a high quality MP3 and a WAV. The story track is 2 minutes and 55 seconds. It has jungle, monkey and alligator noises and my voice of course doing the narration and some monkey voices. If you are still not sold on this check out an audio sample of the story. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNQNS6HnhJ8&feature=youtu.be
