Here are 5 FUN Halloween literacy activities that can be used in literacy centers, RtI intervention, or whole group instruction.
1. Letter ID or First Sound Bingo- this game can be played 2 ways... letter ID or first sounds. Students receive a BINGO board and must find the letter to match the BINGO caller's letter card or picture card for the first sound. Includes: 12 BINGO boards (just print extra for whole class), letter calling cards, picture calling cards
2.Batty Rhyming- students practice rhyming words by matching rhyming bat picture cards. Includes: 36 cards (18 pairs) total
3. Halloween Write the Room- students walk around the room to find sight word cards and record them on their recording sheet. Includes: 16 sight word picture cards, recording sheet, and blank cards for you to add your own words
4. I Have... Who Has... Letter ID- students play this game to practice uppercase or lower case letters. Includes: 2 sets of I Have Who Has cards (1 set of uppercase, 1 set of lowercase)
5. Trick or Treat Syllable Sorting- students practice syllables by sorting picture cards into the correct trick or treat bag according to the number of syllables in the word. There are 1, 2, and 3 syllable words with a total of 30 word/picture cards to sort.
