This "Social Studies Interactive Notebook" includes activities for the following topics:
Section 1- Monotheism vs Polytheism
>This is a simple review of the definitions of monotheism and polytheism. Students will cut out and glue together puzzle pieces with the terms and their definitions.
Section 2- 5 Major Religions Pocket Activity
>Students will create a pocket (out of paper) for each of the 5 major religions. They will then fill out a small sheet on the Gods(s), Prophet(s), holidays, place of worship, sacred text, country of origin, and beliefs of each religion. They will put those small sheets in the pockets. There is an extra blank sheet on which you can have students put additional info.
>It includes an answer sheet.
Section 3- 5 Major Religions Chart
>It includes a filled out chart and a blank chart student can fill out on the Gods(s), Prophet(s), holidays, place of worship, sacred text, country of origin, and beliefs of each of the 5 major religions. It's the same info. as in Section 2.
>Use Section 3 if you'd prefer students to fill out a chart instead of completing the pocket activity (or if you'd like to use the chart as a study aide)
Section 4- Venn diagram
>Students will select two of the five major religions and compare and contrast them using a Venn diagram foldable and the notes they took from Section 2 or 3.
