Based on The Incredible 5-Point Scale by Kari Dunn Buron, this visual has been an asset in my classroom for preventing meltdowns and teaching self-regulation strategies. Students use this scale by identifying how they feel, and then choosing from a selection of calming strategies. These are great to use at the first signs of frustration, or even at regular intervals throughout the day.
