Here is a great project for students to demonstrate all of their knowledge of their 5 senses AND practice writing at the same time. Students create a mystery book all about one of their favorite things and on each page students write a clue to help solve the mystery using their five senses. This is a culminating project for a 5 senses unit. This can be used in the classroom or as an at home project.
There are also instructions for creating posters all about the author's 5 senses.
Turn this into a family engagement event by having a gallery walk where you display posters and books and invite families to walk around, look at the displays and have student read their books while visitors guess their mystery item!
Print each page of the book one sided and create a copy for each student. If this is being sent home as a project include the directions for how to create the book, poster, or both.
