To encoroporate the 5 senses into student writing, I use this at my writing center. I start the year with just one box about how things look, then I build on to look and feel and continue building until students are writing with all five senses.
I have boxes full of adjectives for each category ( see, feel, etc). I put out an item for students to write about, such as pumpkin. Then I provide sentence frames for the students and they have to find the appropriate adjective from their word box to fill in the blank.
