Product Description
My students do 5 types of math centers: Number Sense, Addition/ Subtraction, Geometry, Place Value, and Measurement. I also teach thematic units in my first grade class. So, this year I am working on more math centers that go along with my thematic units. For my pumpkin unit, I have included:

*Pumpkin Before and After (missing numbers to 100) Print, laminate and cut out the missing number task cards and pumpkin number cards. Students will place the pumpkin cards in the orange boxes to show what numbers come before and after, then record their answers.

*Pumpkin Graphing (collecting & analyzing data) Print, laminate and cut out the pumpkins. Choose how many of each pumpkin to use and place them in a baggie or other container. Students will sort the pumpkin cards, graph the number of each, and answer questions about their graph.

*Pumpkin Top It (2 versions: place value and addition) Print game boards and pumpkin number cards. For the place value game, students will take turns choosing the top 2 cards in the pile. The student who makes the largest number gets to keep all 4 cards. At the end of the game, the student with the most cards wins. For the addition game, players will choose 2 cards and add the numbers together. The player with the largest sum gets to keep all 4 cards. At the end of the game, the player with the most cards wins.

*Pumpkin Measurement (estimation, counting & using nonstandard units of measurement) Students will estimate, or guess, how many Unifix cubes it will take to fill in each pumpkin and write their estimate in the first box. They will then fill each pumpkin in with cubes, count how many cubes it took to cover the pumpkin, and write their answer

*Pumpkin Patterns (patterns) Students can use the pumpkin pattern cards to help them make their own pumpkin patterns. There are 4 pattern cards with examples of patterns, 4 pages of colorful pumpkins for use in a pocket chart, plus a black & white cut & paste pattern printable for independent practice.
