Thanks for having a look at my resources!
This is one of my many daily math warm-ups I use with my classroom. I hope you enjoy using it and find it useful like I do!
This warm up consolidates and reinforces the five times table facts. This warm up is aligned with ACARA, C2C and Common Core for grades 1-12. I use this warm up at the beginning of my Math or Math Center Block.
The 5 times table Warm Up PowerPoint has 4 different levels.
1. Counting pattern revision
2. Time tables with answers shown
3. Multiples of 5 revision
4. Timetables without answers shown
As a whole class, we chant the counting pattern, timetable facts, and multiples together whilst tapping along on our desks.
I follow Anita Archers Explicit teaching model for verbal choral answers:I put up my hands to indicate silence and thinking time. Students are looking at the IWB.They read the slide and think about the answer.I lower my hands as I say the sum that was on the IWB.”
My children love this warm up because they think it is a game. Some times the whole class answers the missing part or I choose a side of the room/gender to answer the questions. '.
