It is no secret the tween & teen years are difficult; for adults and tweens & teens.
My intention in creating this resource is to improve communication between adults and adolescents. To assist adults in encouraging a healthy and trusting relationship with the teens in their life. This resource will help shift your perspective and provide you with strategies that WORK to get teens talking to you.
If you haven't noticed, tweens and teens ask a lot of questions. It's a biological drive they are experiencing that causes them to question the status quo; they trying to understand but also establish some independence and uniqueness. They want to feel they are contributing and their contributions are respected.
The activities in this resource helps TEACHERS, PARENTS, COUNSELORS and/or anyone working with tweens/teens to see the value in attentive listening and mindful responses. In addition, understanding how an abrupt "NO" is destructive to a relationship with tweens/teens.
Teachers/Counselors: use these perspective shifts with your student to improve communication and understanding with homework and in the classroom. This resource is also useful when working with parents of your students!
Parents: use these perspective shifts with your tween/teen to improve your relationship and know what's going on in your tween/teen's life!
