I use this while we are exploring an object, food and/or field trip (I have even taken this outside when talking about weather).
For example: During the Fall/ Autumn season I use a pumpkin on display and a real pumpkin for the students to write about (noticing differences). After they filled this out for the decorative pumpkin we made a jack-o-lantern and filled this same graphic organizer out for the real pumpkin. We then compared and contrasted the two pumpkins. I use this as a writing incentive, brainstorming and a way to organize and to encourage writing while using the five senses. Thank you!
