How You Ask?
We have found that the best way to have students read 50 books independently is to have them read
1 Genre Book, 1 Nonfiction Book, 1 Traditional Literature Book, 1 Poetry Book and 1 Free Choice Chapter Book each month. If you do something different in your class, don’t worry! We have included a second game board that you can customize however you would like!

Here's How the 50 Book Reading Challenge Works…
-Print and assemble Lap Book Game Board
-Have students customize their book and add updates often
-Students choose their 5 books for the month (at their level) and write the titles on their game board squares.
-Customize the “Golden Packet” with the suggested reading completion schedule filled out on the cover.
-As students read, they complete the matching graphic organizer for their book.
-The “Golden Packet” is their proof to you that they have completed their book.
-As students finish a book, they color in the small game board square according to the key. They also need to make sure that they complete the graphic organizer before moving on to the next book.
-We collect the entire “Golden Packet” at the end of the month with check-ins on the Suggested Reading Completion Schedule. You can choose whichever way works best for you.
-If students complete their books on time, they earn a “Game Ticket.” This allows them to compete in a fun game against another student for a chance to win a “Reward Coupon” of their choice (or your choice). All games have directions and materials included in this product.
-If students do not complete their books on time, they still have a chance to win a prize! They can complete their “Golden Packet” at a later time and earn a “Slow but Steady Still Wins the Race” raffle ticket that they can turn in for a chance to win a prize!
-Another way to motivate students is the Bulletin Board that is included! They will get to fill out book and add it to their bookshelf that is displayed in the classroom. This is an easy bulletin board that students are in charge of and best of all, it stays up all year and looks great!
