How I love my sight word pointers! They are great because they can be used in so many ways and with such little prep! The product comes with 50 colorful shaped sight word pointers - the shapes simply need to be printed and taped to popsicle sticks / tongue depressors. For added durability, they can be copied onto card stock or laminated so that they last year after year. Here are a few ways I have used my sight word pointers in my classroom:
2) Student quiz each other to review the words
3) Students pick a stick and match the word to a word in a book
4) Students pick a stick and search for that word in the classroom
5) Students pick a stick and make simple sentence by lining up with one another side by side.
All the above activities work well for fast-finishers or students who need a little more active practice of sight word concepts. The words come from a combination of the Dolch and Fry word lists. For more multi-purpose literacy ideas, check out my TPT store!
