These Color Chord-inated® chord charts and songs are organized into four different common chord patterns. Each song may be sung individually and accompanied with bell or Boomwhacker® chords as indicated in the charts, OR, because the songs use common chord patterns, they can also be sung simultaneously to create partner songs (harmony). A list of pentatonic songs and instructions for creating ostinato accompaniments are also included. Partner songs are a useful tool in developIng independent singing and the ability to sing in harmony. In addition to musical skills, playing and singing these songs will build eye-hand coordination, focus/concentration, timing, collaborative skills, and classroom community.
These charts may be electronically projected (great for keeping students focused and guiding discussions). They may also be color printed and enlarged if desired. The chord charts are in my Color-Chord-inated® format, which includes note names and color-coded note heads. In addition to the two-page teaching guide, five guide sheets (one for each chord chart) include song titles, lyrics, starting pitches, and chord tempo guides (indication of which syllables to play the chords with). This proven, practical format facilitates success with Boomwhackers® or bells, and works well for teachers and students with very little music experience as well as seasoned music teachers and older students. (Adult groups enjoy them too!) Note: If your bells, chimes or boom pipes aren’t color-coded, apply colored stickers to them.
