Product Description
This is a package of all 51 puzzles I've written on Shakespeare and 10 of his plays which are studied/read at the high school and college levels. The plays are: A Midsummer Night's Dream, Macbeth, Hamlet, Othello, The Merchant of Venice, King Lear, Romeo and Juliet, Julius Caesar, As You Like It, and The Taming of the Shrew. There are five puzzles for each of the ten plays and one puzzle on Shakespeare, the man and his life. The five puzzles consist of, for the most part: 1). a regular crossword for each play wherein 8 - 12 of the clues pertain to the given play. Several buyers of the crosswords felt that there were too few "themed" clues . . . so I have written what I call 2). a fake-crossword wherein each of the fake-crosswords have "20 Questions" ALL of which are on theme but the crossword breaks traditional crossword rules 3). a character search which takes the form of a traditional word search but lists the key characters in each play . . . along with a hidden quote from another of Shakespeare's plays 4). a Somewhat Antiquated Word Search made up of 18 words (with definitions given in the listing of the words) which may have been used back in Shakespeare's day but are not used today or mean something quite different . . . this search also includes a quote from another of Shakespeare's plays and 5). a matching vocabulary puzzle whereby words are matched with definitions and when connected create yet another Shakespeare quote. The words involved in most of these puzzles are words that we still use today but have slightly different meanings than what Shakespeare meant when he used them.
The price for the package of 51 puzzles is less than a third of what would be paid if all of the puzzles were bought separately . . . and the ten puzzles are the ones that are most frequently taught in schools today. For the English teacher it's a great package that can be used over a lifetime of teaching Shakespeare literature . . . nothing really, really deep . . . but foot-off-the-accelerator review/help and enjoyment. Something quite different in 120 pages of package at about $.50 per puzzle.
