Product Description

This product is perfect for students to practice conjugation present tense, regular -ar, -er and -ir verbs. Through the use of repetition, students are able to practice writing out conjugations based on subject pronouns. Answer keys for every table are provided, and this product does not include vosotros forms of the verbs. I typically do not have student complete this in one sitting, for it is repetitive and I do not want to lose their interest. I have included different ways I have used this below.

This Product Includes:

  • 5 pages of -ar verb conjugations (6 charts per page)
    • Verbs include: hablar, bailar, nadar, estudiar, cantar, visitar, tomar, viajar, practicar, escuchar, comprar, mirar, ayudar, limpiar, lavar, caminar, patinar, pintar, entrar, terminar, llegar, esperar, ganar, necesitar, andar, cambiar, preparar, cortar, dibujar and enseñar.
  • 2 pages of -er verb conjugations (page one has 6 charts, page two has 3 charts)
    • Verbs include: correr, comer, beber, vender, creer, responder, comprender, aprender, and leer.
  • 2 pages of -ir verb conjugations (6 charts per page)
    • Verbs include: vivir, escribir, abrir, describir, recibir, decidir, definir, ocurrir, permitir, subir, compartir, and asistir.

How to use in the classroom:

  1. Anticipatory Set (Warm Up): I make this file into a packet and distribute to each student. From here, I have students complete 2-4 charts individually as a warm up for class. Students then compare answers with classmates sitting close by and then we review as a whole class. This activity is meant to be quick and as a way to practice what the students learned in the previous class.
  2. Assessment: I have often used this as an exit ticket. Again, I would distribute this as a packet and ask students to complete particular charts (2-4) before leaving class.
  3. Reinforcement: I have also assignment particular charts out of this for homework, so students have practice to reinforce what they learned in class.
  4. Sub Plan: Although I have never used this as a sub plan, it would be easy to leave for students because it is straight forward and something they can complete without confusion if the sub does not know Spanish. Answer keys are provided in the file, and can be given to the substitute for reference.
  5. Extra Credit: This can also be assigned for extra practice and/or extra credit. I have distributed this on a Monday and asked students who were interested to have it completed by that Wednesday for extra credit. I am normally pretty strict with extra credit deadlines and do not accept tardy assignments for this.
