PowerPoint and Guided Notes I use to teach Energy Conservation and Transformations PowerPoint and Guided Notes as part of my Work, Power, and Energy Unit
Includes practice problems to solve and 3 critical thinking questions to promote higher order thinking and thorough class discussion.
Practice problems relate work done to kinetic and potential energy and emphasize the law of conservation of energy in maintaining mechanical energy when potential energy converts to kinetic energy (and back). Also includes daily activator and objectives with a review of the daily objectives as a summarizer at the end. ALSO includes suggested followup assignment description on the last slide for having students create an energy transformations poster (I do this as a mini-poster, can also be an anchor chart or a fold-able with minor modifications.) The assignment lists general criteria for what should be included.
PowerPoint is 14 slides, guided notes is 2 pages.

Lesson is designed to combine Chapter 5 sections 2 and 3 from Pearson Science Explorer - Motion, Forces, and Energy but could be modified to accommodate any text.

Includes answer key for guided notes with answers to the think about it questions and practice problems
