This FREE Excel Data sheet correlates to my 5th Common Core Unit 3 Math Test (aligned with the Common Core Georgia Performance Standards).
Included are 3 worksheets within an excel workbook - Pre-test data, Post-test data, and summary sheet.
All formulas have been put into Excel so it is ready to calculate everything for you!
Here's what you do:
After giving your class the 20 question Unit 3 Multiple Choice Pre-test, you open up the worksheet labeled "pre-test." Copy your class list into Column A. Then for each student, go down the row and put an X in each box where they got a problem wrong on the pre-test. For example, put an X in the column labeled "Item 9" if they got #9 wrong. This will calculate a percentage and total for each child, while also keeping track of how your students did on each test item.
The bottom row below your students shows the # of students who mastered each item. The lower the #, the more you will need to introduce that skill. The higher the #, the more students who have mastered that skill already.
This will be a great source for you in showing how you use data to create flexible grouping, as well as for differentiating instruction to different groups. It can also help in planning your units by knowing which skills need more attention than others.
**This data sheet is for a class of 23 students - Please send me a message if you need me to upload a data sheet for a different class size or if you have any questions on how to use this spreadsheet**
Be on the look-out for additional Common Core Math Unit tests as well as data sheets this year!
