I needed a way to get my students more involved with their 5th grade Science textbook. I wanted them to pour over their books. I wanted to see pages turning and pencils moving. I wanted students to interact with their textbooks, so I created these Student Activity Pages. Each chapter has a cover page and a grading rubric. Activities vary between Anticipation Guides, Short Answer, Constructed Response, Working with and Creating Thinking Charts and Maps, Interpreting Diagrams and Data, and Creating Meaningful Illustrations. This technique has helped me to incorporate collaborative learning styles as students enjoy hunting through the text together. There are many ways to use these. I hope you and your students find them fun and helpful.
