These matrices, or charts, are for teams of teachers to outline their unit lessons based on each Common Core State Standard and are aligned to the Standards Based Environment Model and Continuous Classroom Improvement Program.
Suggestions included in this guide encourage the use of kid-friendly learning targets, the 4 Depths of Knowledge levels, Marzano's High Yield Strategies, Gardner's Multiple Intelligences, RTI activities, extension activities, and studying data using Bloom's Knowledge Domains.
Each matrix is color coded as follows:
Green are math standards (all)
Purple, Mauve, Orange, Teal, Blue, and Yellow are ELA standards (by domain)
Hyperlinks are provided from each standard to the Common Core website, and to further explain the Depths of Knowledge levels and Knowledge Domains.
Benefits of having this Word format include easy editing, saving, and sharing with team members and administrators electronically. Also, after the whole bundle is initially downloaded, the standards can be separated and saved by each quarter so teachers can focus only on the standards being addressed at each point in time.
The best way to really understand the CCSS is to plan lessons collaboratively in this organized way!!
