Meteorite Math games are exciting opportunities for students to learn, review, and practice specific math standards. Students love trying to "save" cities from meteor strikes by correctly answering math questions. These activities, with fabulous location specific photos (each game has a different location/city), can be used during whole-group instruction, but also offer opportunities for use during RTI with smaller groups to enhance engagement. Students can be paired, grouped in teams, or work independently, depending on what works best with your students.
Each game has 10 problem slides with an answer slide following each. After the complete answer is shown a link pops up in the lower right corner to get back to the slide depicting the Earth surrounded by meteors. There are animated auto advancing slide near the start and an end game animated auto advancing scenario with sound effects.
This Meteorite Math game specifically targets student mastery of 5.NF.1. Students grow in their understanding of Number and Operations - Fractions while playing an exciting game.
After your students engage in this learning opportunity, they will want to know what other cities can be "saved." Please check "Coop's Corner Store" for other Meteor Math activities.
*** This game has a completely custom duration. Just hit the finish button(explained in the instructions) when you are out of time. We all know how classrooms can be:). I always make at least 10 problems and rarely finish them all.***
