Created as a way to spiral the Common Core Math Curriculum, these calendar pieces support students in practicing multiple concepts throughout the month. This month includes the concepts of identifying attributes and multiple names of quadrilaterals and triangles, whole number multiplication and division, and comparing decimals to the thousandths place. Students may also review any other decimal concepts such as word form, expanded form, rounding, etc. with the decimal numbers given. Dates are also color coded for prime and composite. Students may complete these activities as independent work or collaborative learning opportunities during Math Workshop or Guided Math. Instructions for setting up student notebooks as well as graphic organizers and support posters needed are included. Using these calendar pieces will give students multiple opportunities for practice and increase the retention rate for these concepts. They will also help you have an easy and thoroughly planned way to keep multiple math concepts active in your classroom. From Julie Nelson of Nelson-Bonn LLC.
