All teachers need low-ink, ready-to-go computation practice worksheets to use as practice or assessments. Let me help!

One thing that I have learned after nearly 30 years in the classroom is that while we need to fully engage our students in high-level thinking activities and help them build their understanding of numbers and operations, at a certain point—they simply must be able to compute accurately and efficiently! The CCSS clearly outlines what needs to be accomplished at each grade level.

This resource is intended to provide you with a number of different computation “checkpoints” that can be used either quarterly or as needed to check students' ability to perform grade level computation. This resource has 14 different assessment tasks as outlined below:

Larger Number Multiplication and Division (including division with remainders)

(4 sets of 6 problems, each in 2 different formats)

Adding and Subtracting Decimals

(4 sets of 6 problems, each in 2 different formats)

Multiplying and Dividing Decimals

(4 sets of 6 problems, each in 2 different formats)

Also: 2 different sets of 12 mixed operation problemsto use as a summative assessment.

Also included are several class checklists, a "cover sheet" to use to track individual student progress if you choose, and ALL answers!

Watch for additional computations assessments at different grade levels!

Fluently multiply multi-digit whole numbers using the standard algorithm.
Find whole-number quotients of whole numbers with up to four-digit dividends and two-digit divisors, using strategies based on place value, the properties of operations, and/or the relationship between multiplication and division. Illustrate and explain the calculation by using equations, rectangular arrays, and/or area models.
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals to hundredths, using concrete models or drawings and strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction; relate the strategy to a written method and explain the reasoning used.
