Included In This Product:
★20 5th Grade Music Lesson Plans. Lessons are aligned to the National Core Arts Standards and were designed to last 50 minutes (this can vary depending on the skill and behavior of your students). Six of the lessons include time for students to practice independently on a program I created called Rhythm Judo. Rhythm Judo is a program in which students attempt to learn and master nine short rhythm pieces or “belts.” New rhythms are added in each piece, and the difficulty increases as students progress through the program.
★Each lesson contains a shorter version called “lessons at a glance.” Each lesson at a glance contains the objective for that lesson, standards, new terms/concepts, songs, required materials, and optional materials. These are a great way to get a quick idea of what you will be teaching in each lesson as well as what materials you need without having to read through the entire lesson plan!
★1 Song list. This file contains a list of all the songs contained in the lessons as well as links to where you can find those songs and the lessons that those songs are used in.(NOTE: 17 of the 19 songs needed to teach the lessons are included in this product. The other 2 can be found for free on YouTube or can be downloaded on Amazon for $1.29 per song. Links to those downloads are provided both in the lessons and in the song list.)
★235 pages of 5th grade resources (PowerPoint presentations, original song notation, posters, worksheets, word wall cards, and more!)
★Examples of resources included:
--15 original songs and 2 original warm-ups
All of the original songs include piano accompaniment. The piano accompaniment for each song requires beginner to moderate skill level. Sound files are included for each song and are in MP3 format. Recordings include both full score and accompaniment only. They were recorded using music notation software and do not include human voices singing the melody.
--9 original rhythm pieces and piano accompaniments for a program called Rhythm Judo. Students can play these pieces during bucket drumming units, on chairs, drums, or even the floor! This is also comes with progress and class list charts, a poster on how to learn a song independently, and a student award sheet.
--Music word wall cards that rhyme
--PowerPoint presentations introducing concepts such as the elements of music, triplets, cut time signature, interactive rhythm cards, how to find math in music, and more!
--PowerPoint presentations and listening glyphs to help students learn about music from the 1970’s
