I created this product as a way to help my fifth grade students remember all of the elements they need to include in their narrative writing:
After I teach this to my students and have them put this into their writers' notebooks, I coach them to write the letters of the acronym at the bottom of their narrative writing planning sheet. They should write each letter on the planning sheet where they plan to include the element in their essay and check off/cross off the letters along the bottom as they are used. The goal is to use each letter at least once.
There are two copies of the notes per page. It includes an acronym with space for students to write their meanings and an example that you generate together in class. There are two versions of the notes: one completely open, the other a cloze/fill-in-the-blank copy. An answer key is included on the third page.
