I took the Open Court List and revamped it by listing the grouped list of words vertically as opposed to horizontally as done in the T.E. That way students can look for patterns with more ease. Also, I included a box over each group so that students can identify and write the pattern rule for each grouping. Extra space at bottom of each group so students can add additional words that follow the pattern.
I usually have my students circle/underline the subject, predicate, and prepositional phrases in the sentence component of each list.
