The Crazy Zebra has created an Order of Operations (PEMDAS) puzzle geared for 5th graders. The puzzle does not include exponents. There will be another one coming soon that will include exponents. The puzzle is designed to be colored first, cut apart, then reassembled using the PEMDAS side. Students tape their pieces together then flip over when complete to see if their puzzle is put back together correctly. Many teachers prefer to cut them apart first, have students complete, then let the students color the picture if they would like. We recommend printing the puzzle on heavy weight paper so that the puzzle is easier to handle. Students LOVE these puzzles!
Great activity for the last few days of school or placed at a math station. Good for homework as well if you're worried about the use of tape or need parent help cutting apart the puzzles.
This puzzle page prints out perfectly front to back allowing easy cutting so the problems do not get cut off.
