Aligns to the Readiness Standards in Reporting Categories 1 and 2 for STAAR- TEKS 5.5A, 5.6A, 5.6B, and 5.6C
Keep concepts fresh throughout the year! This choice board is designed for students to use when they have completed work early, when there is a sub present, or for enrichment while the teacher is working with small groups. It is differentiated and TEKS Aligned.
There are 3 ways to differentiate using this choice card.
--Use data to determine each students’ area of strength and weakness. Assign each student an appropriate number of items to do for each TEKS. For instance, a student who is very weak in one area may be assigned to do 2 items and only 1 in an area of strength.
--Assign by students’ overall levels of mastery. Students who are stronger may be required to do more 3’s and 4’s, while lower functioning students may be assigned more 1’s and 2’s. Allow students to substitute for higher level activities at your discretion.
--Combine methods. Assign students both by TEKS and overall levels.
Many of the activities can be done with very little prep, using common classroom materials. Some activities have been provided on the pages following the choice card. Extend activities or modify as needed to meet your students needs.
Use as part of a comprehensive review plan, for early finishers or as enrichment.
