BASED ON GEORGIA STANDARDS: Are you having a hard time getting your social studies taught with such a demand on math and literacy??? If so, this is a resource that can be used by your students throughout the year.
This is a 60 page document (30 pgs front and back) of the main people, places, and events taught in 5th grade Social Studies. These pages can be printed front-back (Key word or description on front/logo on back), and used as a Memory game (matching the keyword with its description) or as a vocabulary/definition sort. The people, places, and events start with Civil War, and end with the War on Terrorism today.
Number of Concepts addressed:
Civil War (16)
Reconstruction Era (8)
Turn of the Century (16)
Jazz Age (8)
The Great Depression (14)
Cold War (8)
Civl Rights Movement (12)
I print these cards front-back on card stock, cut and laminate them, and use them as centers. My students also play them in the mornings, or when they are finished with work throughout the day. It is the perfect way to squeeze in constant social studies reviews, in a fun and exciting way that the kids enjoy!!! They are seperated by the categories above, and I have left a blank template at the bottom for you to add new concepts your class is covering!
Thank you so much for looking, and I hope this helpful for you.
