You will love posting this powerpoint on your wall at the beginning of each of your math classes during the month of December. I had 3 classes (block a,b,c) and 6 tables (they are labeled by colored post it notes on the graph on every other slide). You post one green slide per day. Students walk in, sit at their tables and being working each of the six problems on the green slide in their math journals. Once their tables members have had a chance to work the problems they compare answers and one person from each table write their answer face down on their table colored post it note and comes to the board to post their answers in the appropriate box. The teacher checks all answers, awards points and keeps a running total for the days remaining until the holiday break. The table with the most points before the break earns a pull from the treasure drawer or whatever reward you chose. I have posted problems for 8 days but powerpoint is set up for 12, make it your own or add more problems to go over what you have studied. The students love the challenge and its a great way to have them come in and get right to work while you greet students at the door. Enjoy!
