Product Description
Looking for a way to assess your students' knowledge of Ideas and Organization?

Included in this product are three different worksheets to assess your students' skills in the traits of Ideas and Organization.

Sheet 1 uses an example from Margaret Brown's "The Important Book" as a prompt to help students create a short piece on their own "important thing"

Sheet 2 focuses on the concept of creating details that "show, not tell" the reader what is happening. This is great for students who need to work on strengthening the detail they put in their writing!

Sheet 3 is all about the importance of organizing details in a way that makes sense. Students are given an example of a well written sequence of steps, and are then asked to try it on their own!

These can be used as "exit tickets" after a mini lesson, or as morning work to warm up students' minds before beginning Writer's Workshop!
