Shared Reading is an important part of any beginning reading program. But, who can afford to buy those pricey big books? Well, now you can!
Here I've developed six colorful big books (11 1/2 by 8 in.) that are perfect for shared reading plus six matching half size small books in black and white. I use these in my guided reading portion so I can watch kids point as they read. Students then color the books, take them home to read to family, return with them and use the small books in book boxes (or book bags) during independent reading or partner reading. This makes an excellent independent activity for students while you're working with a small group.
This is level 1A so there are only 2 words per page. The language is repetitive with a small twist on the last page. Most pages also have rebus pictures to help students identify words. What a treasure for your classroom! Look for other emergent readers in my store-coming soon!
